Flower Seeds: Blue Butterfly Pea

Known as the bunga telang, this is a harder creeper that grows fast over anything in its way! It is known for its vibrant ultramarine blue flowers.

Its flowers are commonly used for colouring rice and drinks such as in nasi kerabu, giving the dish its signature blue rice. It can be used as a decorative edible garnish. All parts of this plant are edible, from the young pods, flowers and leaves.

Plant your seedlings next to a trellis or a fence so that it can climb on it, growing vocariously and start to flower after 90-180 days. Harvest the flowers when blooming, and excess can be dried and kept.
