Fruiting Seeds: Birdseye Chili (Cili Padi)
These perennial plants are every heat lover's best friend. The small chilli fruits are extremely spicy. These plants are self-pollinating, and the seeds can last up to 5 years.
Used to make spicy sauces, sambals, or to add extra heat to curries, soups and stir-fries.
Chillies can be picked when about 5cm long. Harvest regularly to encourage plant to fruit more.
To seed save, select the strongest, disease-free bushes with the best fruits. After the final color for the fruit has been reached, pick the chilli, open it and scrape out the seeds. Dry on paper in a shady place for a few days.
